Completes First Year of Inaugural Executive Doctorate in Business Administration
HOUSTON, TX, 05/01/2024 - Chief Innovation Officer for Blue People Alfredo Arvide is one of just 27 students to complete the first year of the inaugural session of the Executive Doctorate in Business Administration program at the C. T. Bauer College of Business at the University of Houston.
The three-year Executive DBA program allows professionals who have climbed the executive ladder an opportunity to reinvent themselves in the classroom, giving them insight and knowledge of thinking from a business perspective, while using research to solve problems.
“We are excited to have launched this program with a stellar group of students,” Bauer College Dean and Cullen Distinguished Chair Paul A. Pavlou said. “At Bauer College, The Future Is Our Business, and our new Executive DBA gives senior leaders and executives the opportunity to transform the future by transforming business problems through research.”
Comparable to a Ph.D. program in requirements and professional prestige, the Bauer Executive DBA Program enables professionals to explore contemporary business issues through deep inquiry and scholarly applied research.
“This inaugural cohort has been nothing short of amazing,” said Associate Dean of Research and Executive DBA Program Leader Vanessa Patrick. “The discussions, readings, ideas and solutions that have been covered in this last year have really shown how this program is taking the world of research and making it instantly applicable to business.”
The Bauer Executive DBA, offered in a high-flex format that combines online learning and extended weekend residencies, is designed to accommodate busy executives.
“Arvide has set the bar of the caliber of student we are looking for in this program,” Professor and Executive DBA Program Director Angelika Dimoka said. “They are bringing new perspectives and ideas to our conversations, and as they progress through the program, I am excited to see what solutions they come up with to advance their organization.”
The Executive DBA program is currently accepting applications for the Fall 2024 cohort, with a deadline of April 15.
